First Weekend in Oksboel

The first weekend in Oksboel was great. It was like being with family again! After we were in Odense that Thursday, Joyce called on Friday and said her husband Paul and daughter Morgan would like to come visit, so they took the train over to Esbjerg and stayed until Saturday. We had a fun visiting, laughing, eating Danish food, drinking Danish drinks, seeing the Danish coast, and having a great time!

Dinner at the Petersen's. (Clockwise L to R) Christian, Michael, Irene, Carsten, Paul, Joyce, Morgan and me.

Morgan presents a drink invented by her friend, Chicken Dinner. It is called Ginoca, and is a fresh combination of gin and Binoca breath freshener.

Morgan takes a shot of a Ginoca.

On Saturday, Carsten drove us through the military training camp where we saw a graveyard of old tanks and jeeps that had been bombed or very well used in the Middle East.

We headed out on a short drive to the west coast to enjoy the beautiful sunshine. Unfortunately it was very windy and very cold. There was actually still snow in the dunes and ice on the beach!

Annelise on the beach. (...almost like "sex on the beach"! ;)

We drove to another beach where we were excited to find several pieces of amber!

This is all amber, except for the two larger rocks close to the foreground.

Unfortunately, it was time for our Danish Camp friends to go home again. Before Denmark, they had been in Africa for a few weeks, so they were ready to get back home to Portland, Oregon.
