Rocks in the sand.
Dad trying to cross the creek to the other side of the beach without getting his shoes wet.
An artistic shot of rocks and driftwood on the beach.
On Monday, we went to Oswald Beach to look for agates! Mom found two nearly right next to each other and then I found some up in the rocks. I started digging and found a bunch of agates! 14 total! Mom was jealous!
My dad's truck being towed away.
When I finally met up my parents at Nehalem Bay State Park, I found my dad's truck had broken a seal in the transmission and couldn't back the trailer in to our spot. So, a big huge tow truck from Tillamook drove up to back the trailer in and then tow Dad's truck away to get it fixed. My parents were very lucky that I came to meet them, so there was an extra vehicle to drive around in!
In Manzanita, I met up with my mom's cousin Elsa and her table of beautiful, artistic, photo cards!
After camp, I drove out the Oregon Coast to meet up with my parents to celebrate the 4th of July. Here is the view from Nea-kah-nie looking over Manzanita. It is tradition to stop here and take a picture!

The Vikings!
Thursday night, we played the Viking game where families worked together to answer facts about Vikings and their Gods. Each person got a balloon that they had to protect from the Vikings that were hiding out on the grounds between each check point.

Crafts outside the Barn.
Camp family group hug! Cassy, Tina and Tyler! I've known these kids for a long time!
It's craft-time in the Barn! Kids are painting in designs that will dry and then can stick to the window and see the sun shine through the colors.
You really know camp is a special place when old time campers come back to visit. It was great to see Jesse again! It's like seeing family after being away for a long time.
Another beautiful sunset over the Columbia River Gorge.
The award giving nerds and Annelise after 'storegruppe'.
Olga the Viking woman (aka Annelise) visits the camp every night to give facts about Vikings and the way they lived.
The Freja family puts on a skit for the group on Tuesday night.
The Tyr family goes through a stack of Go-Cards that I brought back from Denmark. They can use them to send messages to friends in camp who are in another family.
After the Dannebrog comes down, the 'vimple' goes up! This is a new tradition we started this year, so we always know Danish Camp is in session.
The boys sing the Danish national anthem as the flag is lowered.
Lowering the Dannebrog in the evening.

The campers get a chance to try a folk dance along with the experts.
The Hasslev Folk Dancers in action!
On Monday, we were fortunate to have the Hasslev Folk Dancers from Denmark perform for us in Wright Hall. It was so hot outside that we had to have folk dancing inside. It was a great treat to have real Danish dancers at Danish camp.
The view from between Bowman and Wright Hall looking west over the Columbia River towards Portland.
Carsten smiles to the camera as if the task is as easy as pie!
