Igi in the entry to the Irish House.

Adam and Annelise at the Irish House Saturday night.

Yay! We were happy to run into Tom again at the Irish House. And we were even happier that the somewhat-humorous musician that was playing Saturday night gave the guitar to Tom to play a few numbers. Tom's voice is absolutely incredible!

We met up with Adam from the States. Igi and Adam both lived at the Luna student dorms.

Saturday night we were back at the Irish House. This time I tried a drink recommended by Tom...a Snake Bite. It is a blend of cidar, lager, and black current. It's quite good!

After the welcome party, we had to stop by Jomfrue Ane Gade, the famous walking street in Aaborg, which is purely bars, discos, pubs and restaurants. It's like being at a high school dance (I imagine)...there are a lot of teenagers and kids in their young 20's who like to hang around this area. Again...not really for me so much anymore.

Saturday afternoon we went to have lunch and coffee at Rai. Our favorite coffee bar guy sold his little Kaffebaren and bought this bigger place. It is really well decorated with simplistic modern design and the food is wonderful.

John, from Spain, Igi and myself at the wecome party near the Studenterhus. There were a lot of new faces, but fortunately, a few familiar ones, too. I was definitely ready to go, though, after not too long. I can tell I am growing out of that party scene...when all the students are 21-24 and I am 28...there is a big difference in maturity levels. I think that is why I enjoy the Irish House so much...it is more me.

From behind the polar bear.

The front of the polar bear.

It snowed a lot all day on Thursday. The snow was perfect for sculpting, so I spent a nice hour and a half making this cute little polar bear in the front yard. I was quite proud of myself and how he turned out...especially from the right angle.

Igi kissing the polar bear.

Ah, my usual...a pint of Strongbow at the Irish House.

Igi, all ready to go out and party on Friday night. We had a few drinks at home...a mix of Kijafa cherry wine and Polish Passover Slivovitz...it actually wasn't that bad! Yummy!

Annelise, Niels and our absolute favorite musician, Tom Brakl, at the Irish House.

Don't I look like a natural? ;) Don't worry...I was just trying to act "Danish"...I've never smoked a cigarette in my life!

On Thursday, we went to the Irish House, my favorite place, and ran into my friend Niels.

At the Student House on Wednesday. Sophia, Joao and Igi. Joao has been in Aalborg as long as I have and Sophia is his sister visiting from Portugal.

The girls at Studenterhuset this past Wednesday. It's Sophia, her cousin, me and Igi.

They finally got smart at DesignherGals and made a character with a little more realistic human features...such as a little meat on the bones! I actually like this one a lot better than the last one. So, this is "me" all ready for Valentine's Day...and no where to go.

Seahawks, clearly the better team

It was sad to bike home in the rain at 4.30 in the morning after the Seahawks lost to the Steelers. The only nice thing was smelling the lovely aroma of pastries coming from the various bakeries on the route home. The Seahawks were clearly robbed during the Super Bowl and the refs were a disgrace in the decisions they made. Read this article from Fox Sports. It's good to hear that others saw how crazy the refs were and how clearly more superior the Seahawks are. Check out this blog made by a Seahawks fan. He's got a good collection of articles relating to the evil men in stripes.

The Super Bowl party: Anders, Christianna, Lars and Annelise...me with a Bud! This was taken when the Seahawks were ahead...

I was the only Seahawks fan at the party, so I used my homemade t-shirt and Lars' cap to create my fellow "12th man" fan. We had a good cry together. But we were happy that the only touchdown was made by a Husky: Jerramy Stevens.

Yum! I made carmel corn for the Super Bowl party! It was a hit!

Are you ready for some football?!

I am totally ready for some football!! I just got a package from mom and dad with an authentic Seahawks t-shirt, onion dip mix, and a Seahawks head wear from the Seattle Times!! Sunday can't come fast enough!

And since I heard that the whole Blue Thunder drumline is traveling to the Super Bowl, and many of them I know from Husky Band, I wrote an email to the Danish station, TV2 Zulu, asking them to get a few shots of the Blue Thunder during the game! I hope they do!! I mean, they don't show any of the commercials, so we could at least see something just as entertaining! (Super Bowl commercials are good!)
GO SEAHAWKS!
BUY DANISH and drink Carlsberg at your Super Bowl party!
